Ingredients
1 Cup Sugar |
¾ Cup Water |
1 Tbsp. Orange Zest, Grated |
¼ Tsp. Salt |
12 oz. Fresh Cranberries |
1 Loaf French Bread, ½” Slices |
3 Tbsp. Butter, Melted |
8 oz. Brie Cheese, Thinly Sliced |
Instructions
SAUCE
- Mix together sugar, water, orange zest and salt to a boil in large frying pan over high heat. Stir frequently until sugar dissolves. Add cranberries and return to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for a thick jam type sauce, about 7-9 minutes. Remove from heat and completely cool.
Note: Sauce can be made 1 week in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If made in advance, set the container out on counter 1 hour before using.
TOAST
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush butter over bread and toast in oven for 1-2 minutes. Remove from oven and add a slice of brie and bake 5 to 7 minutes. Top with 1 Tbsp. of cranberry sauce. Toast can be prepared and toasted 1 day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
Note: Day of serving add brie and bake, then add cranberry sauce. Serve warm.
